I recently learned about technology curriculum for middle grades being provided for free from CompTIA Spark, a nonprofit organization founded by CompTIA, a leading tech industry association. Recently launched, the curriculum is designed to be fun for students and easy for teachers to implement. It was developed specifically to help fill an important gap in tech education by reaching students in the pivotal years before high school while they remain receptive to learning new concepts, continue to develop critical thinking skills and begin their career exploration journey. 

I think CompTIA Spark curriculum would really be worth looking into for <name of school or district>: 

• It helps students build vital tech skills and explore exciting, rewarding opportunities in technology.  

• Implementation is easy for teachers at any experience level.  

• Industry support allows all middle-grade educators FREE access. 

The curriculum is offered in two engaging tracks to meet the needs of various middle-grade classrooms: 

• Tech Exploration Units: Designed to develop a range of core tech skills and digital fluency through fun, project-based learning. Students are exposed to a variety of career pathways while building confidence, 21st Century skills, and a growth mindset. 

• Emerging Tech Units: Slightly more advanced activities focusing on today’s most relevant tech topics, like AI and cybersecurity, while building prerequisite skills for high school courses and addressing computer science standards.
